Time for the SAG Awards! Who Will win? My Predictions!
Well, The welcome to my new entertainment rumor and scoop blog! The Best blog you’ll find!
Well, The Golden Globes recently passed and suprisingly was very refreshing from some of the past boring awards show.
Tonite, the SAG awards are taking place and I couldnt help but put in my two cents as to who the big winners will be:
Best Actor in Film:
This race could be closer than many people think. While I believe Golden Globe winner Mickey Rourke will also walk away from this prize, he must definately watch his back of Brad Pitt for Benjamin Button (which scored the most noms) and Sean Penn. Another Real dark horse is Frank Langella for Frost/Nixon. Sorry Jenkins, but no chance this year…Pick: Mickey Rourke.
In Best Actress in Film:
Meryl Streep is loved by her peers, as is Winslet. Both had great performances, with Winslet winning the Globe for her in turn in Revolutionary Road. Look for these two to duke it out, with a longshot darkhorse being Melissa Leo, who turned in a fine performance in the small indie “Frozen River”…Pick: Melissa Leo
Best Supporting Actor in Film:
Heath Ledger hands down. Not much of a chance for anyone else here, just the honor of being nominated.
Best Supporting actress in Film:
Kate Winslet, nominated here in the supporting category seems to be the big front runner here. So much so that the Academy instead nominated here in the Best Actress Category for “The Reader” come Oscar time. Pick: Kate Winslet
Best Performance of Cast:
With many good nominees here, I have to believe “Milk” could pull off an upset here over the favorites “Benjamin Button” and “Doubt”. Milk had many great acting appearances by Sean Penn, James Franco, Emile Hirsch, all who were worthy of consideration of nominations. Though with “Doubt” getting 4 oscar nominations all in the acting categories, its hard to argue this wasn’t the best ‘cast’.. Pick : Milk
TV:
Best Actor, Drama:
Hamm and Laurie seem to be favorites here, but watch out for Spader or Shatner, who could be honored with thier show coming to an end.. Pick: James Spader
Best Actress, Drama:
Many were suprised not to see Glenn Close nominated, but it’s likely to go to another of her cable counterparts, Kyra Sedgewick or Elizabeth Moss.. Pick: Elizabeth Moss
Best Actor, Comedy:
Nobody is riding a better wave than 30 Rock. Have to go with Alec Baldwin here.
Best Actress, Comedy:
Same as above, 30 Rock has become unstoppable, and Tina Fey will win yet another award.
Best Cast, Drama:
If there’s a cable equivalent of 30 rock in terms of riding an awards wave, its “Mad Men”. And expect nothing different here.
Best Cast, Comedy:
May I repeat again, theres a little show called “30 Rock” that if you arent watching, you need to be. It wins here too…
